Our latest funding bulletin is available to read online, containing grants that community groups, charities, companies, local authorities and individuals can apply for.  

Kent County Council - Early Help and Preventative Services District Based Grant 

The Early Help and Preventative Services grant is to enable supporting local priorities surrounding Early Help and Prevention. The grants will support new organisations or innovative ideas which will contribute to meeting local priorities for Children and Young People and will run for a year.

Who Can Apply:

To apply for the Early Help and Preventive Grant you need to meet the following criteria:

  • Grant applications must be a minimum of £500 with no single grant award in excess of £13,500
  • No organisation can bid for more than three projects covering more than three districts
  • Expressions of interest will be in the form of a 300 word application
  • Only non‐profit organisations can apply. Statutory services cannot apply for this grant
  • The activity must be directly linked to one or more of the key priorities for Children and Young People for the district as set out on
  • The activity must take place in Kent
  • Organisations from outside of Kent will be considered, but applications will need to demonstrate how they will work in Kent communities, bringing in experience, specialism or other factors currently not available within the county
  • Proposals may be for seasonal activities, annual programs, events or organisational development. If you require funding for something else, please contact us before applying
  • All funding must be used specifically for the proposed projects and not for the core funding of an organisation
  • Successful projects will be required to provide evidence of impact against local priorities during and at the end of the grant
  • As and where appropriate, applicants will be asked to provide plans for sustainability following the end of the grant

To Apply:

  • Grants will start in April 2018 and the application period is now openand will CLOSE Midday 3rd January 2018

Applications can only be made via the online application will be assessed against the appropriate district priorities.

Please ensure you look at the guidance notes before completing your application. 

Do not leave applying to the last moment on 3rd January – we wouldn’t want a technical glitch to get in the way of a fantastic project.
