Policy Day: Local and national events will be held to support engagement between small charities and policymakers and influencers.

Fundraising Day: Take part in free competitions and initiatives to raise vital funds for your small charity and join events to improve your knowledge on fundraising topics.

Small Charity Big Impact Day: Showcase your small charity and the fantastic impact it makes by applying for the FSI’s Small Charity Big Impact Awards.

Celebration Day: Get involved and run an event to help raise awareness of and celebrate your amazing work.

New funding for suicide prevention across Kent and Medway
NHS England and Public Health England have today announced £667,000 of new funding for suicide prevention across Kent and Medway.

Innovative ideas supported by £17,500 in grants
Canterbury City Council has awarded nearly £17,500 to charities and community groups to help the voluntary sector with original, untested and new ways of responding to the needs of the community.

Representing the sector on an Executive Board

A few months ago I was asked if I would represent the voluntary sector on the HeadStart Kent Executive board. Now I’m not really a board room person but I am very passionate about seeing the statutory and voluntary sectors work better together, so I agreed. I also like the HeadStart programme, which is all about preventing mental health issues developing in young people by building resilience in them and offering support at an early age. As a youth worker I see how many young people are affected by poor mental health and depression so I am very happy to be involved.
