Mental Health Support Worker, Tunbridge Wells

Tunbridge Wells Mental Health Resource Ltd (MHR) is a highly respected established Charity delivering mental health services to individuals across Kent. The Charity is steadily growing and we are looking to recruit a team of personable, flexible and motivated Part-time Mental Health Support Workers to work across 2 of our delivery projects, The Hub and Serenity Café. 

The Hub provides informal day services with a strong focus on participation within groups and social activity to actively promote wellbeing. Groups are delivered in a nurturing, compassionate environment either at our Hub or within the community. Hub shifts are Monday, Wednesday & Friday.

Serenity Café offers out of hours support service for adults suffering from (or developing) mental health problems.  The Café provides a safe, supportive environment for people who are in or close to crisis point. Our focus is to build confidence and self-esteem, promoting independence and strategies for managing recovery as well as providing practical mental health support. The Café shifts are Friday 5.30pm – 10pm and Sunday 2.30pm – 7pm.

You will have an understanding and empathy for the needs of people with mental health problems, and experience in a role supporting vulnerable adults. You will have excellent communication skills, a warm and caring personality, knowledge of delivering mental health services and a commitment to providing person centred support.

Willingness to work flexibly within a small team is essential, along with using your initiative and a commitment to contribute positively to the Charity’s success.

The new Support Workers will share the shifts on a rota basis. It’s anticipated at least 1 shift each week will be cover the Café on either Friday evening or Sunday afternoon. All appointments are initially offered until 31st March 2019 when funding will be reviewed.
